Amy and I hit up the East Austin Studio Tour (E.A.S.T.) over the weekend, saw our friends Wave Farmers perform at Hot Mama’s Cafe and participated in the circus show at Vortex on Sunday night. I was blown away by the creative/talented performances by the Sky Candy students and teachers, as well as the beautiful Drishti Dancers. On a completely unrelated and somewhat geeky note, I’d like to point out that this is the first gallery of photos taken with my brand spanking new Nikon D3s (almost all shot at iso 12,800….it just amazes me how clean and sharp they came out despite the ridiculously low light!).

These are the first behind-the-scenes photos of the Aircraft Circus preparing for their performance of Madam Pain’s Boudoir Circus in London this summer. These particular photos are of the characters Natalia and Natasha (Talia & Tasha).

These are some of the highlights from the Performance Workshop the Aircraft Circus did last week. The students each had three days to put a new routine together and then perform it in front of an audience on Saturday night. All of the students did an outstanding job and there was a nice amount of diversity in the performances (one silks, one hoop, three static trapeze and one doubles trapeze). I’ll post more from each routine over the next week.
